Atlas Lives Where?

I live in Portland, Oregon and I built AtlasLivesHere because Instagram is a horrible place to experience photography and I wanted to explore what was possible with photo discovery when you combine AI, color theory, and manual curation.

If you're wondering where the name of this site comes from... that makes two of us. I woke up from a heavy, psychedelic dream with the words "Atlas Lives Here" burned into my brain and this vivid image of a globe spinning inside a neon, hollow, three-dimensional pyramid. It felt like an epiphany without instructions. I checked the socials and domains expecting the usual land-grab—shockingly, everything was wide open. So I sat on it until I had something to build, and so here we are.

Atlas, the Greek god who doesn't technically live anywhere but does hold up the world felt like the perfect metaphor for wandering around capturing pieces of the globe.
